You have asked for it…so here is the video!
A new game is born in the paddock: poke fun at Karim! So after the wins, the time for making fun of me started without delay. Adam was on the hunt for a new nickname. “The Moroccan James Hunt” by Adam Smalley was born. Even tough I was quietly dismissive, it seem to have attracted great traction within the Elite Motorsport bandwagon in no time. Adam provided the proof (as you can see below) and I fear the nickname might just stick. Adam is a repeat offender as he tried other nicknames unsuccessfully such as “Morocco’s fastest racing driver”. He must be brought to justice!
Indeed, I am at risk of loosing my nickname “the legend” by Harry King. Of course, he is another one! He has planted the seeds and after seeing that I was a serious threat to him on track and in the courtroom; he quickly moved on. Things started going downhill after we exposed him in our world exclusive interview…
Nowadays he doesn’t speak to me anymore (it was great to see you Sunday Champ!)
I wonder whether it was Ali Rushforth that started it all with his opening salvo of “Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone”?
In all fairness it wasn’t. The floodgates opened with Steph Bush’s surprise invitation for a Ginetta Special Award. Another one that cannot be trusted! She presented me with a Kitty Litter Award during the 2021 year end celebrations evening. I was called to the podium to teach racing drivers how to attempt the famous ‘reverse’ overtaking move developed at Donington GP.
Or did it start well before that when I opened a Gentleman’s club in 2018? The initiated will remember that I also invented the ‘inverted’ move (taken from the Top Gun movie). To date I believe we are only 3 members of this by invitation only restricted Ginetta club (with a former team mate Will Aspin taking over 3 years to get his membership card) but that is another story…
Has anyone thought about my reputation? The hurt this might inflict on me? Time to ring Youssef Chehbi, my lawyer (human rights and press freedom activist in Morocco). I concede he might not be knocking Mike Tyson anytime soon; but his tongue is as sharp as a Samouraï sword. So I count on him to wake up from his siesta, finally do some work for once and organise my defence. At the last count it is Karim Sekkat Nil Point and Rest of the World 4, this situation must be overturned. Until then keep well and safe nerdies!
The moment has arrived: After years of racing, I sit atop the leaderboard for the first time in my life! I’ll never forget this weekend as we stopped nothing to ensure a win on both races. Fastest lap and hard-fought victories! The team’s celebration was well deserved. We’re on top of the world.
There are moments in your career when you’re just so proud of what you’ve accomplished. This is one of those moments for me.
I started off strong with pole position in qualifying, and then went on to win both races. In the last race, my main competitor and I were battling hard but fair, which is where I pushed him into his spin. This helped me take the lead and eventually win the race – although positions swapped throughout the race, I stayed ahead of my opponent until he retired.
I want to thank everyone involved with this victory: especially my team members who celebrated nicely with me after the second race. What an amazing job you guys have done! Also a big thank you to my supporters afar from all over the world: USA, China, India, Thailand, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Canada, South Korea, UAE, Honduras and so many other countries but of course it goes without saying Europe & Morocco!
We fought hard until our competitor made a mistake and we were able to take the lead. Even though they were able to regain their position, we held on to win it all! The whole team celebrated nicely—we’re over the moon with our result!
WOW I can’t wait for the next round!
Hard work and dedication paid off. Thank you to Elite Motorsport, Rich, Robert & Jack for putting up with me. Adam for highlighting my weaknesses & Chris for applying the required cool down speech. First from start to finish was a nice feeling on track. But by no means was it a walk in the parc. Started on pole position in the Ginetta GT5 Challenge AM. A twitchy start although somehow without contact. Pre determined strategy worked well. I then got too comfortable and eased off too much; enabling Bal to have a shot. But I held on from the seat of my pants.
From the first corner of the grid were two fierce rivals: (White) and (Sidhu). Both drivers pushing for wins, so everyone knew what was at stake here! We are also competing against each other for places in the championship and a spot on the podium.
At the green light I got away cleanly while White seems to struggle to get his tires up to temperature or having to defend hard. Meanwhile Bal continued to chase until he cought up with me but couldn’t make the pass.
Can we replicate this story tomorrow? Nobody knows…
No, we have not been hacked. So let me tell you about our little secret: We have used AI (Artificial Intelligence) to see whether we could pull off videos that would appear to be authentic… No actors were involved, these are avatars. No script was written but automatically generated on the basis of a few key words. The theme, problematic, development as well as the conclusion was automatically processed. We have used a variety of tools.
As you may know Oxford Engineering has won a competition to start it’s AI program. So we feel quite playful.
Thank you for all the views & feedback; some has been literally hilarious. Some people thought we have lost it; they are most probably right. All I can say is that there is some sense behind the madness! See you around.
